Christopher Santantasio is a Bay Area writer and editor originally from the Hudson Highlands. His fiction, nonfiction, and criticism appear in nearly two dozen publications including One Story, Story Magazine, Split Lip, Massachusetts Review, Boulevard, Pinch, DIAGRAM, SmokeLong Quarterly, and elsewhere in print and online. He holds an MFA from The Ohio State University and was a 2023 writing resident at South Porch (Summerville, NC). A finalist for numerous honors including the 2026 and 2025 Steinbeck Fellowship (San Jose State University), the 2024 Anthony Veasna So Scholarship (The Adroit Journal), the 2020 Janus Prize (Chautauqua Institution), and Best American Short Stories: 2019 (Distinguished Story Citation). He is at work on a novel about gay life in the lead up to the 2008 Financial Crisis. He previously served as Fiction Editor at The Rumpus, and spends his spare time exploring the woods and the coast with his partner and his dog, Mojo.
